iShares launches Eurozone and US bond ETFs on Xetra
January 22, 2015--iShares, BlackRock's ETF product range, has launched two new Ucits compliant ETFs providing exposure to long-term euro-zone and US government bonds on Deutsche Börse's securities trading platform Xetra.
The iShares $ Treasury Bond 20+yr UCITS ETF gives investors access to the performance of government bonds denominated in US dollars, with a residual maturity of 20 years minimum and a fixed coupon.

Mario Draghi announces €1.1 trillion quantitative easing programme
Stimulus package will include sovereign debt purchases to buoy the Eurozone
January 22, 2015--European Central Bank (ECB) president Mario Draghi unveiled bigger-than-expected quantitative easing measures on Thursday but still faced a fierce fight from Germany over any policy that could mutualise debt in the eurozone.
"The combined monthly purchases of public and private sector securities will amount to €60bn euros," said Mr Draghi at a press conference following a meeting of the ECB's governing council.

January 21, 2015--The European ETF market is expected to
expand 15-20% 2 in 2015, according to Simon Klein, Head of
Exchange Traded Product Distribution & Institutional Mandates, EMEA and
Asia,at Deutsche Asset & W ealth Management (Deutsche AWM), speaking at a press conference in Frankfurt.
With €357. 3 billion 3 in ETF assets under management, ETFs currently account for some 3.3 per cent
4 of total fund volumes in Europe.
As well as innovation to provide investors with new types of market exposure in ETF format, other anticipated growth drivers in 2015 will be the range of additional services ETF houses can provide clients, and strong price competition 5 , noted Klein .

Europe deflation and US rate hike risks: It's paradoxically bullish for gold and silver
January 20, 2015--Deflation-not inflation; policy tightening-not easing is, ironically, giving gold and silver momentum.
Here is why.
Deflation is destabilising state finances, creating uncertainty, mainly in the Eurozone. Meanwhile, the broad-based US expansion is fuelling expectations of when, not if, the Fed hikes interest rates.

Four Smart Beta iShares ETFs launched on Xetra
ETFs offer access to MSCI Europe strategy index family
January 20, 2015--Four new iShares equity index ETFs from BlackRock's product offering have been tradable in Deutsche Börse's XTF segment on Xetra since Tuesday.
All four iShares ETFs track the performance of stock companies included in the MSCI Europe Index. Selection and weighting of the stocks differ depending on the selected strategy approach according to the company size, value, momentum and earnings quality.
