U.S. Federal Reserve's notes from their July meeting offered no surprises, as the VIX closed at 12.19.
The VIX futures curve is unusually steep, indicating traders do not anticipate VIX to remain as low in the near future. At yesterday's close, the front future price represented a 21% increase in VIX from its current level -a spread within the highest
1% of all such observations historically.

August 17, 2016--The Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Open Market Committee on Wednesday released the attached minutes of the Committee meeting held on July 26-27, 2016.
The minutes for each regularly scheduled meeting of the Committee ordinarily are made available three weeks after the day of the policy decision and subsequently are published in the Board's Annual Report. The descriptions of economic and financial conditions contained in these minutes are based solely on the information that was available to the Committee at the time of the meeting.

August 17, 2016--Vanguard Group is making another bid to launch a new stripe of investment fund in the U.S.
The giant money manager asked the Securities and Exchange Commission for permission to introduce funds that are run by stock and bond pickers and have shares that are traded on exchanges, according to a new filing Wednesday.
