The San Francisco-based bank's fund unit is considering launching its first ETF within three to six months, company executives said. Following the success of giants that went before, Wells is beefing up its quant credentials as it prepares to compete for a chunk of the $4.1 trillion ETF pie.

December 16, 2016--John Hancock Investments has expanded its exchange-traded fund (ETF) product lineup today with the launch of John Hancock Multifactor Developed International ETF.
Dimensional Fund Advisors LP, a company regarded as one of the pioneers in strategic beta investing, was selected to design the underlying developed-market equity index for the new international ETF based on Dimensional's time-tested factor-based approach. The ETF (ticker JHMD) trades on the NYSE Arca.

December 16, 2016--2016 IPO Market Drops to 7-Year Low, Gears Up for 2017 Rebound
With the S&P 500 at record highs and average IPO returns handily beating the broad market indices, the US IPO market should have produced high levels of issuance in 2016.
Instead, proceeds fell to their lowest level since 2003 and activity was the worst since 2009. This seemingly contradictory year can be explained in part by the market freefall in the 1Q that resulted in numerous postponements, the Brexit vote in the 2Q and the US presidential election in the 4Q.

Treasury International Capital Data For October
December 15, 2016--The U.S. Department of the Treasury today released Treasury International Capital (TIC) data for October 2016.
The next release, which will report on data for November 2016, is scheduled for January 18, 2017.
The sum total in October of all net foreign acquisitions of long-term securities, short-term U.S. securities, and banking flows was a monthly net TIC inflow of $18.8 billion.vOf this, net foreign private inflows were $60.5 billion, and net foreign official outflows were $41.7 billion.
