American Century Investments Launches Exchange Traded Funds Focused On U.S. Quality Value And Diversified Corporate Bonds
January 16, 2018--American Century Investments today launched American Century(R) STOXX(R)1 U.S. Quality Value (VALQ) and American Century(R) Diversified Corporate Bond (KORP) Exchange Traded Funds (ETF), the first two ETFs to be offered by the global asset management firm. Listed on the NYSE ARCA, the new funds leverage American Century's 60 years of expertise developing client-centric investment solutions.

Macro
Domestic equities have had a mediocre year in the first two weeks of 2018 which is to say the market is up a lot for such a short time.
Humorously, the title of this week's Barron's Trader column was The S&P 500 Is On Pace To Triple This Year. For the week, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 2%, the S&P 500 gained 1.56%, the NASDAQ added 1.72% and the Russell 2000 led the way with 2.02%.
Interest rates continue to be the most interesting game in town. The yield on the Two Year Treasury Note moved above 2% last week for the first time since 2008. The Ten Year also spiked, closing Friday at 2.55%.

Hudson River Trading to buy rival HFT firm Sun Trading
January 16, 2018--Hudson River Trading LLC has agreed to buy Sun Trading parent Sun Holdings LLC, it said on Tuesday, the latest takeover in a shrinking high frequency trading industry beset by low market volatility and rising costs.
The deal between the two closely held firms is expected to close in the first quarter, subject to regulatory approval. The terms were withheld.

Nine banks accused of rigging Canadian rate benchmark
January 16, 2018--Nine large banks, including HSBC and several Canadian lenders, have been accused in a US lawsuit of conspiring to rig a Canadian rate benchmark to improve profits from derivatives trading, Reuters reports.
The complaint, filed by a Colorado pension fund last Friday, accused the banks of suppressing the Canadian Dealer Offered Rate (CDOR) from Aug. 9, 2007, to June 30, 2014, according to the report.
