Franklin Templeton launches Bitcoin, Ether index ETF
February 20, 2025--Franklin Templeton's fund is the second crypto index ETF to hit this US market.
Franklin Templeton has launched an exchange-traded fund (ETF) holding both spot Bitcoin and Ether, the asset manager said on Feb. 20.
Franklin Crypto Index ETF (EZPZ) is the second cryptocurrency index ETF to hit the market after asset manager Hashdex launched its Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF (NCIQ) on Feb. 14.
Franklin Templeton's EZPZ fund holds the basket of assets referenced in the US CF Institutional Digital Asset Index, which only tracks Bitcoin as of Feb. 20.

February 19, 2025-BlackRock and Vanguard have paused their meetings with companies after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) published guidance last week prohibiting investors from participating in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) activism.
The world's top two asset fund managers are concerned they may be in violation of the new SEC guidance, which their teams are in the process of reviewing. If found in violation, these companies could face legal investigations led by the Trump administration.

February 19, 2025-Aging baby boomers are passing down a record amount of money to their children
Canada is in the midst of an unprecedented transfer of wealth that experts say could have significant social and economic implications for the country.
The Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada said in 2023 that $1 trillion of wealth was expected to move between Canadian baby boomers and their millennial and Generation X children from 2023 to 2026.
Much of that money is the result of real estate wealth, as many baby boomers have benefited from sharply rising home prices and other investments.

It's not the first time that SPY's crown has slipped
Vanguard has unseated State Street for the title of the world's biggest exchange-traded fund, ushering in a new world order for the $11 trillion industry.
The Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (ticker VOO) now commands nearly $632 billion in assets after raking in some $23 billion so far in 2025, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. That haul has vaulted VOO past the $630 billion SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, known as SPY, which previously held the title of largest ETF.

Coinbase Launches Solana, Hedera Futures Contracts for US Traders
February 18, 2025-Coinbase's derivatives arm said that it now offers CFTC-regulated futures contracts covering Solana and Hedera.
Coinbase said on Tuesday that its derivatives exchange now offers futures contracts for Solana (SOL) and Hedera (HBAR), expanding its suite of products to cover more cryptocurrencies with pending applications for spot ETFs in the U.S.
Regulated by the CFTC, Coinbase said in a blog post that the exchange's derivatives arm now offers futures contracts for 19 total assets, including Dogecoin, Litecoin and gold, among other altcoins.
